I'm not talking about being so fast that it feels hard. Or so hard, that it had to be fast.
I'm talking you have thudding shots like Joel Julio. Or your fast like Paulie Malignaggi.
But, hey. People can answer how they like.

I say power that derives from the speed of your punch. Does that count? Ya know, like the power that comes from the speed and snap of your punches? Like getting hit by a bamboo pole. SRL or Hearns for example.

I have to go with speed.
Speed even gives Speed problems. Speed is power, because the shots that hurt most are those that you do not see comming.
They say timing beats speed, but that is not that easy if the speedy opponent also has good timing (or atleast realizes that their opponent is trying to time their shots) it is easier said then done.

I'm not saying that I think power is more important. Like I voted, I think they are about equal. But I keep hering things like it's the shot you don't see, and speed kills and so on a so forth. Remember, Malignaggi only has 2 and half knockouts.
When Joe Calzaghe later in his career only focused on speed and combinations, he didn't stop anyone.
We are talking about having one OR the other.

Power might be able to get you a nice win here and there, but just power is harder to apply than speed, imo.

It really depends on what the boxer wants. People are more drawn to power and a fighter with more power would most likely make more money. A guy with speed may be able to win more fights, IMO anyway, but he might not be a fan fav outside of his backyard. Calzaghe may be really fast but at his late stage he didn't have much power. It got him wins but not that much more fans. A guy like Tyson though may lose to a Danny Williams type of guy and then fill out a stadium fighting a guy like McBride. So i think its about even.
