If I was a boxer and I could choose my attributes

I'd say a power puncher with good TIMING.

It usually takes exceptional power to be able to rely on it solely. Speed is overall more useful, unless you're a Foreman-esque fighter.

Heavy-handed fighters like Chavez and more recently Alfredo Angulo aren't fast, but can hurt you with a single blow at times.

                  Speed is power

Acceleration of the human skull is what produces knockouts. Speed is the major factor in acceleration. A well placed punch to the chin requires only moderate power to accelerate the skull, but a higher velocity during impact will create a greater rotational torque action to the skull.

Two other factors that this thread doesn't acknowlege is timing and accuracy. These attributes can accentuate or neutralize speed. Many of the great boxers stay on top even when their speed decline because of their timing and accuracy.

its all about fast and slow twitch fibres but cba to go into that.

You need good speed to generate the power this means fast explosive movements which arnt sustainalbe. Without speed you cant have power.

                      you forgot timing.

                      speed > power > timing > speed
