    what's better,

Winning a vacant belt against an undefeated Carlos Quintana, in a debut at 147, or moving up in weight to challenge the WBC 140 belt holder, Arturo Gatti (mayweather)?

and then there are also title defenses.

what's better, defending your title against Mosley, or defending your title against Baldomir?

    it's about who you fight!
    your right.

just how joke calslappy fought countless bums to pad his record through his WBO (Warren Boxing Organisation) belt and then fought some 46 year old senior citizens with names. i mean tuckill pudwill, manfredo, bika, ashira, veit, salem and the rest of the bums have to be some of calslappys career defining fights. along with sheikha, woodhall and reid who he lost too but got the decision LOL!!

Don't worry, Mayweather fans are just angry because their favorite fighter won't stop being a "0" protecting coward. Their favorite thing to say is "Mayweather offered to fight..." or "Mayweather would have...", I could care less.

Listen I'm not a Mayweather fan, I'm a big Cotto fan, but I realize that Mayweather is the greater fighter of the two and more than likely would've beat Cotto and still could. However, sorry to say Mayweather fan, you're boy isn't a fighter anymore. Why don't you find someone else who actually fights to root for, and stop trying to poke holes in other fighter's resumes. Bottom line is, at the end of his career people will have fonder memories of Miguel Cotto because he represents what is good about boxing and Mayweather represents what's wrong.

I thought that this thread was about Cotto and a vacant belt.....did Cotto somehow become Calzaghe? OH, it's because Calzaghe retired undefeated in another weightclass and has absolutely nothing to do with Cotto; I understand now-

            WOW!! great thread!

                Miguel Cotto Last 8 Fights

                Paulie Malignaggia 21-0 @ 140 W UD
Carlos Quintana 23-0 @ 147 (debut) TKO Quintana quit on his stool
                Oktay Urkal 38-3 @ 147 W TKO 11
                Zab Judah 34-4 @ 147 W TKO 11
                Shane Mosley 44-4 @ 147 W UD
                Alfonso Gomez 18-3-2 @ 147 W Gomez Quit
                Antonio Margarito 36-5 @ 147 L TKO 11
                Michael Jennings 34-1 @ 147 W TKO 5

                Floyd Mayweather Last 8 fights

                DeMarcus Corley 28-2 @ 140 W UD
                Henry Bruseles 21-2-1 @ 140 W TKO 8
                Arturo Gatti 39-6 @ 140 W TKO 6
                Shamba Mitchell 56-4 @ 147 W TKO 6
                Zab Judah 34-3 @ 147 W UD
                Carlos Baldomir 43-9-6 @ 147 W UD
                Oscar De la Hoya 38-4 @ 154 W SD
                Ricky Hatton 43-0 @ 147 W TKO 10

I say they are pretty comparable resumes in the last fights....

Paulie and Chop Chop are = IMO

Quintana is a better fight to take at 147 then Shamba Mitchell.

                They both beat Zab

Shane and Oscar are both big names on their respective resumes. Floyd went up to 154 to fight Oscar at his best weight.

Tony>Ricky IMO I give credit to Cotto for taking the fight at the time no one wanted a piece of Tony. He did lose and Floyd did win his bout so that is what it is....Lefty

And how is it not surprising to see the Ricans up in arms and praising the Lord at Cotto beating another nameless bum to capture a vacant belt as he has done countless times throughout his whole career LOL...
