belts don't mean anything now a days, it's who you fight.

what's better,

Winning a vacant belt against an undefeated Carlos Quintana, in a debut at 147, or moving up in weight to challenge the WBC 140 belt holder, Arturo Gatti (mayweather)?

and then there are also title defenses.

what's better, defending your title against Mosley, or defending your title against Baldomir?

oh man, i didn't mean to pull the trigger on money may! lord knows what mess that brings!

well, Cotto's recent fight for the vacant WBO 147 title, was probably the easiest to set up, probably because he has had a WBO belt before (WBO 140), and maybe because the WBO is located in San Juan, Puerto Rico? After all, the other 2 puerto rican champs (Calderon, Lopez) are current WBO champs in their respective divisions.
