These are two of my favourite guys. I really like Alexis but I think Floyd would have got him here and won a competitive decision. Basically, Floyd was at his best at 130 and Alexis didn't love guys that gave him a lot of movement, which I think Floyd would have been able to do. Mayweather would have had the defensive abilities to keep Alexis' bombs away I think.

Having said that, you could not count Alexis out for a KO win. Despite how good Mayweather's defence and chin are/were, if ALexis got him with a bomb it is all over.

So, I am going to go with Floyd, but not with a ****load of confidence.

great reply man... but floyd jr's chin hasnt really been tested yet... his defense is so good that it got him that far in his career without his chin getting tested... thanks man...

I would favor Mayweather although Alexis would be a rough fight. Arguello would land more clean shots on Floyd then people are accustomed to, in order to do this though Argeullo would have to take a tremendous ammount of punishment. I would say by decision, but if it plays out like I think I could see Floyd getting a late stoppage but Floyd would need to do a lot of damage on him to make that happean.

Arguello was very good in 15 round fights though, so if the fight was 15 instead of 12 rounds, he would should be the favorite.

To me these are the top 2 130 pound fighters of all time, a very interesting fight to think about.

i think chico resembles alexis' fighting style closest than anyone in floyd jr's resume... coralles collected KDs like crazy in that fight... but i think alexis has the better chin than chico... (RIP)

I think Arguello is a much better technical boxer also. I do not think he would look near as lost in the ring as Chico looked that night.

Fighters with good movement and who knew how to pick their shots always gave Arguello problems, stylistically it's not a very good fight for Arguello but you can never count out a big puncher like Arguello and the duration of the fight could be very important too, Arguello would have a much better chance in a 15 round fight than a 12 round fight, although that's mainly because we haven't seen Mayweather in a 15 round fight so it's hard to say how he would do.

If Mayweather wins, it'll most likely be by decision, if Arguello wins, it'll most likely be by late knockout.
