I know the cheto that stepped into the ring with Cotto was likely in his plaster prime and against Clottey he may not have been but during the early rounds the plaster would not have been hard. I also admit cheto was no doubt in the best ever condition he has been for the cotto fight.

I don't think Clottey is easy to hit to the body... he always comes VERY well conditioned though, **** on 147 and normally comes in around middle/supermiddle.
    Ive watched it 1000 times.

and again, how they both fought against Margarito means nothing when it comes to the both of them fighting.

Possible but not likely. I'd buy a KO for Clottey over Cotto way more than vice versa tho.

I still favor Cotto in this one but his confidence is still a minor question mark for me. I wonder what will run through his head if Clottey ****s a good couple left hooks off them.

Clottey fights in a manner very similar to Azumah Nelson but is really a poor man's version who further lacks the power and workrate of his idol. Still, he's got underrated footwork, a tight guard that protects his solid chin and throws excellent combinations. If Cotto struggles to land early on, especially to the body, he could find himself in a world of trouble. But more than likely, I expect him to fight Clottey to a stalemate on the outside and outwork him when he covers up. Clottey would have to be better than he's ever been for this fight where Cotto would just have to be back to his old self. That pretty much sums it up.

This fight will be a nightmare for Cotto.. fighting someone who isn't open at all for those straight shots or hooks. Cheato is obviously just a sitting duck with a robet-esque chin. Mosely's head just has a target on it in his old age if you have a bit of speed. Jenning's and Gomez were just there to be beaten to a pulp. These boxers are just so open for Cotto right hand and left hook. Clottey won't be... Cotto will try to **** something and he'll have lightning fast jabs and vicious hooks coming back... he'll be stumbling around come the 7th.

Clottey handles punchers very well and he's a very solid boxer, but I dont see him beating Cotto. Clottey doesnt always seem to do as good against fast(er) boxers and seems very stationary. I dont think Cotto would be able to pressure him, but the guy always seems to find angles and hurts you every time you get hit. If you're talking about underrated I think Cotto even though he enjoys place among the top boxers right now I feel is underrated. First people said he couldnt box, then he boxed, then people said he didnt have handspeed and he showed good handspeed (against Mosley). This fight could be pretty close though and not as exciting as many people wish to believe

or maybe a split decision but most likely cotto will win but it won't be easy

corrales was able to last longer than 7 rounds but you think cotto can't?
clottey is too defensive which makes it hard for an opponent to dominate him but at the same time it also makes it harder for judges to score rounds for him

The judges won't be needed. Corrales, shot and bloated had a better chin than Cotto does plus Clottey will put on a career defining performace against Cotto whereas againt Corrales he was wild like an enraged shark.

Cotto has been on ***** street against Margarito and Judah... Clottey was never hurt by those same guys at any point. Granted, Cheato probably had a better plaster formula for the Cotto fight so it hardened nice and early so nothing like the Williams fight happened again where it only hardened by the 10th-11th and by then it was too late.
