It's truly great that you show support for one of your boys as much as you do. No doubt that it takes dedication to stay up and even make the trip to the US to see the fight.
To be honest though, (I'm undoubtedly going to get some heat for this,) The reason The U.S. isn't as loyal to one single fighter is simple: We have so many other great fighters. If one fails, we have more than enough other boxers to focus our attention on. The United States is the Boxing Kingdom, it's the only place a fighter really becomes a somebody. That's why it's such a special moment for every other country when their fighter comes to the U.S. because that means they've arrived on the World Stage.
It's the same for the U.K. and other countries, though on a smaller scale however. I'm sure you have boxing shows featuring your national fighters there. Your boy loses, the next fight will feature another good fighter still undefeated or showing something special. And gradually you will lean towards them.
