Duddy Decisions Vanda in Ten, is Kelly Pavlik Next?

On the undercard to Miguel Cotto-Michael Jennings at New York's Madison Square Garden, unbeaten middleweight contender John Duddy (26-0, 17KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Matt Vanda (39-9, 22KOs). Duddy is high on the list to fight WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik in the summer. The scores were 98-91, 97-93 and 98-91 for Duddy. [details]

Pavlik would win but this wouldn't be a bad fight to watch.

But seriously, let's be real. Assuming Pavlik beats Rubio tonight, he needs to fight Abraham, no questions about it. I'm sure pavlik's handlers will stay clear of Abraham though for as long as possible.

          Here is the catch

Iv'e seen John Duddy fight once or twice on youtube, and once on MSG Network. Duddy looked much better in this fight by far then other fights I have seen him in. However, me and my buddy discussed it after the fight and this is how we feel. Matt Vanda, who you could easily argue won 3 of the last 4 rounds,( I gave him the 7th and 10th), seems to us was paid to go in and spar with Duddy. Had Vanda decided to fight before the 7th round, he probably would have knocked Duddy out. He put it on Duddy in the tenth. Its almost like Vanda said "Okay. Iv'e been paid to come here spar and lose, but I'm going to show you at the end that I could whip your ass and you aren't above me if at all." Kind of like after getting robbed by Chavez jr, Vanda has decided he can make more money being an opponent, or small stepping stone for lower level fighters, as opposed to beating them and then being hard pressed to find a better pay day. Just how I see it. Regardless... Pavlik crushes Duddy in a fight I'd definetly like to see.
