De La Hoya Continues To Ponder His Retirement

De La Hoya was very open when speaking to the Los Angeles Times about the Pacquiao loss, and admits he may have turned old in one fight.
"I feeling like a zombie" walking toward the ring against Pacquiao, and couldn't "throw one punch . . . maybe I just turned old overnight," De La Hoya said.
After the Pacquiao beating, De La Hoya went to the hospital where Schaefer begged him to hang up the gloves. Schaefer told him "no more punishment."
For weeks it was thought that De La Hoya might step in the ring for a final fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, but that was quickly passed up. Schaefer said Chavez was not a big enough opponent for Oscar. There are very few options for De La Hoya, but he won't commit, just yet, to calling it quits.
"Chavez Jr. not a big enough opponent"
I just hope that means not big enough name to make enough PPV buys.
It just makes Oscar seem desperate to defeat a smaller guy. Oscar defeated Chavez Sr., now he wants the Jr.
If Oscar really wants a last fight is must be with "Ivan Calderon". I just hope that he can prove to the whole world that he's got what it takes to defeat a small guy!Comment

oscar should have one last fight at 154 and call it quits.
the last fight will obviously make a lot of money....
get a good coach, good sparring partners, good training... and he's good to go at 154. maybe even fight mosley....Comment
