BoxingScene.com has been informed by a source in the IBF that a proposed fight between Joan Guzman (29-0, 17KOs) and Yuri Romanov (21-2, 14KOs) has been approved for the vacant lightweight title. Guzman and Romanov are the two highest-ranked "available" contenders to fight for the title. Guzman is ranked at number 7 and Romanov is sitting a number 9.[details]

So Guzman is staying at LW then. He should really get serious about fighting, he has the skills to rule this division.

should be a good fight, romanov is a good fighter but guzman should be able to out point him pretty comfortably
i agree that guzman who is now 31 needs to pull his finger out and start getting the fights the guy has so much talent its unrealComment

i like Romanov, a very tidy fighter, a bit like Kessler, very compact and can do damage. But Guzman's too mobile for him.Comment
