Whitaker had a better defense and had a more accurate jab. His offense is very underrated as well. I just think its a nightmare style for Mayweather. Whitaker would force Floyd onto the offense, which is where Floyd looks his weakest, when he's coming forward.

i think so. mayweather imo is better all round. Hes got incredible defence also with a better attack. Awesome foot and hand speed and skills that could match pernells.

IMO, Mayweather doesn't have the offense needed to be Whitaker. He simply doesn't throw enough punches at the higher weights. Rather than create openings, he waits for his opponent to make a mistake and leave a target open somewhere. A fighter as good as Whitaker is not in the habit of leaving himself open to be hit. Also, Mayweather doesn't have the jab to neutralize Pernell's own jab. Therefore: Whitaker by UD for me.
