The first HBO show I went to was Malignaggi-Edner Cherry. I've actually never been to a world title fight.
I know this makes me a legend, but I saw Eddie Guttierez's first pro fight.

I can't remember specifically which was the first I saw. I know it was something local since there are a lot of small shows in NYC. But sadly I have not gone to as many since I got new GF. She's doesn't really like boxing and thinks its brutal. . One of the only bad things about her.

One of the best fights I saw was paid for by my uncle when we took a trip down to Florida to visit family. He planned it out and timed it so that we saw RJJ vs Lucas but the best fight was by far Kevin Kelley vs Gainer.

I was at that fight too(SSM -De La Hoya I). My buddy won two tickets with $900.00 face value from a call in contest on Telemundo, which is a spanish TV station in LA. By buddy called me to get the answer to the boxing trivia question over the phone, and he won. So he took me.
My first live event was De La Hoya's pro debut at the Forum in LA against one Lamar Williams. KO 1.

I know you're asking for big fights, but my first boxing match I saw in person was when I was like 10-years-old back in the early '80s (damn, I'm showing my age). My uncle took me to a local card in Mexico while we were visiting. Have no idea who fought that night, but I'm sure it wasn't anybody famous. Maybe I'm romanticizing it, but I remember the whole thing being like a scene out of "Raging Bull" (only in color and in Spanish). I even want to say it was smokey inside.

My first "real" fight that I attended was DLH vs. Wilfredo Rivera in Atlantic City (1997). A friend of mine had press credentials and she took me as her +1. (I still got my credentials from that event... the fight was called "Title Wave"... ha ha, kind of weak.) Was able to attend the press conference and could have even asked a question, but thankfully, I kept my casual fan mouth shut. I remember DLH showing off, standing up between rounds.

I live near Washington D.C. so my very first fight was Jimmy Lange vs Gabriel Rodriguez and we sat with the ring card girls b/c we knew one of them!! but my first major title fight was the Cotto vs Gomez & Margarito vs Cintron fight and they were both one helluva experience
