Nobody in boxing history is really overrated. Every fighter properly got what they deserve in their historic place.

How is Lewis overrated? He beat every fighter he ever faced, beat every top contender available, was blatently ducked by Bowe, beat Holyfield, was ducked by Tyson and beat him at the end of his career and beat the consensus number 1 Vitaly Klitschko in his final fight. To top all that off his skills and power were top notch.

Wow. Tyson never ducked Lewis. Lewis even admits that he was scared by an early Tyson and that he didn't want to fight him early in his career. It's better to say Lewis ducked Tyson because he was scared. Then he finally got brave and fought a old junkie crazy whacko Tyson.

I don't consider Calzaghe overrated until I see him start showing up in top-50 all time lists.

As it is now I think he gets the respect he deserves and even his smarter fans will admit he needed to do more to be considered an all time great.


I think Joe Frazier was overrated, his win over undefeated Ali gets him in the HOF but other than that he was 0-2 vs. Ali and 0-2 vs. Foreman. He struggled twice to defeat Oscar Bonavena, his biggest wins were over Quarry, Foster and Ellis. He also never fought Ken Norton, Ron Lyle or Earnie Shavers.
