He said he wants to honor the contract. You don't think Cotto will wait out the contract, you really think he's gonna try a buyout after the Jennings fight?

If he waits for the contract to end. then Arum will have the right to keep, him because, is stipulated in the contract that after it experies, Arum can match any other offer made to Cotto. So its pretty much buyout or stay with!!!!!!!!!!!!

Top Rank is a good promotional company. It can help fighters progress through the early stages of their career by getting them good opportunities precisely when they're ready for them. The problem is that Bob Arum is like an over controlling father. He just does not know how to let go. He believes that he's the one who made the star and that he deserves all of the credit and all of the control in what should happen next.
Fighters outgrow the Top Rank model and when that happens they need to move on. Miguel Cotto has outgrown the Top Rank model. To stay any longer would just inhibit him from reaching his full potential.
There's nothing wrong with the action of Bob Arum as promoter of Margarito. Whatever the result of the investigation, Arum abide by that, that's why he let or promoted Margarito to fight in Mexico to where he is legal to fight out there. He is his promoter after all and no matter how he was enraged with the decision he did not clashed head on with the court verdict, and how could a promoter stand against one of his best boxers just to give in with Cotto's bitterness??? If Cotto suspected that his lost with Margarito was because he used the same "dirty" tactics against him before, then he should fire his staff in tasked of supervising on the wrapping of Margarito's fists because he did not do his job well! But then, this is still just a su****ion, no proof to back up that Margarito had use the same thing with Cotto! But good for Cotto in capitalizing this issue to justify his only lost to Margarito.
