Some have said he has poor hand speed and footwork? Well name a HW other than Chris Byrd in his prime that had good handspeed/footwork within the lst 10 years? And if you go back 20 years you still only find a few HW fighters that actually possesed exceptional hand and foot speed.

It's kinda sad that nobody cheers for the bluecollar type fighters anymore. But I guess it's just easier to cheer for the obvious champion simply because his muscles look prettier on TV.
he is nothing more than a slugger.no skill

Damn, I like the Fedor av and sigs around here. Good to see. As Fedor has shown, physique does not equate cardio.

He was a great amateur. Just put on too much weight. He has some of the best combinations of any HW.

Seriously like top 10 compatition matters when every single one of the alphabet champions in the HW division right now have less than 10 fights combined against serious top 10 fighters.

Except for the fact that Walker is extremely raw. If Arreola is getting beat to the punch by him, and looks slow against him, whats going to happen when he steps in with Klitschko's, Hayes, and Povetkins of the world.

The boy needs some further seasoning. I'd like to see him in with someone like Virchis who is big, and relatively fast (though he has slowed in the past few years) and see how he handles it.

Yeah but they arn't pretty TV combos so most people will just consider him a slugger.

Nevermind that the only combos any of the current HW Champs throw is the sam basic One two combo over and over.

Oh I agree that Walker is nowhere near Vitali or Wlads caliber but one thing I would like to point out is that when the Klitchkos were Arreola's age they were fighting against the exact same level of compatition.

                    Talking merely pre-Lewis.

                    Hide was highly regarded.
Donald at that time was top 10 type.
He was beating Byrd before he was injured.
Even his second tier opponents like Hoffman, Bean, & Norris were as good or better than Arreola's top wins like Wills, Tann, Witherspoon, and Walker.

Arreola is more comparable to Sam Peter pre-Wlad at this point.

His physique is part of a greater sign that shows he doesn't take his craft seriously. He throws cominations well, that is a rarity amongst heavyweights these days as is his pension for excitement and also his likeable charisma. As far as handspeed and quick feet, c'mon a lot of guys have that. Shannon Briggs, Eddie Chambers, Alexander Povetkin, **** even Malik Scott. That doesn't eqaute to success if by chance something else is missing inside a fighter. Arreola's weight and blatant lack of focus and respect to training not only physically, but learning more about his trade is what turns people off. He has horrible footwork, hasn't moved his head in 3 years and has basic countering, and defensive skills, not to mention a complete lack of angles. He uses brute force and heart to achieve his success. And that is greater than what many others offer. I LOVE watching Arreola fight, but I really don't expect much from him. His power will carry him a ways, but when you lack anything else you might be lucky to get another Samuel Peter or maybe another Obed Sullivan. As for saying that Travis Walker is a club fighter, once again that shows immense ignorance, but then again it was Wlad Owns, ignorance is all he shows.
