Pacquiao blows up to 151 when training against delaHoya, sparring 44 rounds per day on average. Cotto at 160 would be slower, the weight could work at a disadvantage. And with all the stamina and speed, Pac can win boxing the guy, with a chance of KO.
Anyway there may be clauses in weight at fight night, Cotto may not be allowed to blow up to 160 at fight night, maybe 152 at most- you know contracts, penalties and promoter stuff...
This would be a great fight.

              Quick to judge.

That's what most of the people are, may or may not be in boxing people are quick to judge. But still people doesn't really entirely learn from facts...
Just like the issue of Margarito-Mosley, who's the favorite again? who's the underdog? who got knocked down?

How about the fiction "DLH-Pacquiao" remember?, turned into a fact! Many thought that this was a mismatch and how many times this fight has been an example in this forum that in boxing you don't really know who would win. People who are so bold of their predictions very much eat their own bitter words.

Now the idea of Cotto-Pacquiao is not that ridiculous, it's not as absurd as the match between Stanley Ketchel vs Jack Johnson.

The fight between Cotto-Pacquiao was really put into consideration even before Pac-DLH, this is not something new, Bob Arum mentioned last year that Manny can fight the winner of Cotto-Margarito, I said to myself "Cotto maybe...Margarito? no way." But then talks between Pacquiao-DLH came up after Mayweather Jr. turned down Oscar for a rematch. Oscar then offered Ricky Hatton the fight but then it's said that Hatton needs two more fights to be ready for Oscar.

Who got the nerves to face Oscar? Pacquiao... and Arum wouldn't refuse would he? That's a big risk for Pacquiao and not to Arum of course, even if Pacquiao dies in that fight a promoter can easily say "what a tragedy" thinking about the cash cow he lost.

So for me, if Pacquiao wants that fight then so be it... Pacquiao knows the health risk... Roach is there to advise him so if Pac and Roach says so... they must give it a GO!

Lets make it happen! This will actually be a great match. I'm as a big a Cotto fan as they come, but this won't be as one sided as many see for Cotto. Manny has the speed edge and probably has enough power even at 147 to make Cotto think twice about just trying to overwhelm him. That said though Cotto has the power edge and can box as well. A Cotto knockdown can occur any time and a flush hit like he was delivering of Margarito will probably floor Pacman. Its an interesting matchup with both having to go in with a good plan to come out the winner.

Cotto may be the 1st opponent that would make Pacman hurt...if Cotto can't hurt him then Pacquiao wins..
