I agree. I am/was a big JC fan, but the reaction to his retirement here has really been over the top, particularly regarding claims about how long it is likely to be before a British fighter with a better record comes along . The answer, should Ricky beat Pacquiao (which is a big 'if', granted), is "about six months".

I would like to see Calzaghe fight Dawson or push for a fight with Dawson at least, I mean, I dont understand how Kessler is/ was more worthy of a fight than Dawson Is. Dawson says he wants to fight him, it will improve calzaghe's legacy.

Let me ask you something here.
Why do you think Calzaghe missed fighting some legitmate threats and prime greats throughout his career?
Why did he stay at 168 taking on guys like Manfredo rather than moving up in weight earlier on and making a bigger name for himself so it would be easier to make the big fights?
Just asking.
I remember both Calzaghe and HBO saying that the Manfredo fight was purely to get him exposure in America. Again why move up at that time when a Kessler super fight was 4mnths away? 55,000 in his home town?
Infact Calzaghe offered Froch the Manfredo slot and he saidComment

What i wanna do now is get back on topic.
Now, at the moment, we have a prime chad dawson who many see as the man at light heavy, he seems to want to fight calzaghe, now why wont calzaghe fight him?
Dawson could be the best prime fighter on his record, why not do that fight?
I dont see how Kessler was worthy of a shot but Dawson wasnt.Comment
