I remember back in the day when Forrest used to complain that he wasn't getting his just due. It probably had something to do with him being a mandatory-ducking prima donna afraid to give an up-and-coming challenger his shot at the belts.

Charles Whitaker? That is absolutely ridiculous. Vernon Forrest is as irrelevant to the sport of boxing as he is difficult to watch.

Back around the Mosley fights he had a point, nowadays though he is just name. He is pretty ireelevent, if he retired I would not miss him at all. He is not even that big a star, that would bring the WBC that much money, so it is hard to fathom how they let him get away this type of behavior (he is sitting on their belt not paying sanction fees).

Please just strip him. I personally hate champions that duck mandatory challengers or any fighter for that matter. Forrest will probably make just as much fighting Martinez anyway. Whittaker? What a joke fight and the fact that it was gonna be on Showtime kind of makes my stomache turn.

Absolutely. Forrest is a fraud who has skated on his one fight (Mosley) rep for years.

I like vernon Forrest but he should fight Martinez.the only thing I can think is this whittakers family in the cayman islands must be offering a substantial amount of money for him to pass up a fight with Martinez.the payday would be good against Martinez to.forrest I think would have a chance of beating Martinez.I wonder if the whittiker fight would still go on if they stripped Forrest.maybe the sunshine & the paycheck is too much to pass up.
