Tito's always loved the attention. I remember around the Vargas fight, he said that he used to have to prepare upwards of three hours in advance for any given function, knowing that he'd always run into autograph seekers.

The amazing thing about Tito is his ability to kick down language barriers and vibe with ANY boxing fans. There are very few in the sport that could/can match his charisma.
Roy Jones is my hero. Say it aint so

I thought i heard jones say on 24/7 that he doesnt like the media attention or something to that effect.

Roy's issues are two-fold. He's weird in that he always wanted the fame, but is more or less an introvert. It's hard to fault a guy for that, some people just turn out that way, and it's not like autograph hounds are the most sympathetic people.

But the greater issue with Roy was his inability, perhaps even his unwillingness, to show up for events on time. I can't count the number of press conferences or autograph shows where his status ranged from arriving at least an hour late, all the way to not showing up at all.

The p/c part goes back to his reluctance to deal with the media, but it comes with the line of work he's in, and more so now that he wants to focus more on promoting.

I've been in the same room as Calzaghe but didn't meet him. I've met the former Commonwealth Featherweight champion Paul Truscott who is from my area, but I doubt many of you have heard of him.

I've met/encountered quite a few other famous people though. Most of these guys will only mean something to Brits. Robbie Keane - nearly got run over by him, Lee Cattermole - went to school with him, Michael Winner - he knocked into me, Graham Coxon - old mates with my Dad, David Batty - saw him at the Supermarket, Paul Smith - saw him after a gig before he got famous and Emma Watson - in a club in London.

          He said FLOYD was awesome.

So I'm talkin to him and then i see this dude in a long sleeve black shirt walking my way.

At first, I was thinkin "damn, this guy looks familiar......." he gets closer and it's Andre Dirrell LOL

I hesitated to say something at first but I was like "hey Andre! whats up man? hows it going"

he was like "whats up man, im doing good - just enjoyin the night"

he said more but i forgot, i feel ****** cuz i felt star struck even though he isnt a huge star or anything. Unfortunately (like a ****head) i forgot to even ask him if i could take a picture with him.

i'm kicking myself in the ass

              Nice story Riz!

When I was a kid I got an autographed t-shirt from Jorgen Hansen. You guys may not know him, but he's probably the most beloved danish fighter. He's biggest win was a huge upset KO win over Dave 'Boy' Green.

Hansen's nose when I met him was completely smashed so I could hardly hear/understand what he was telling me, but he did say something nice

that name rings a bell, i think he's been discussed on here recently.

have you ever seen Kessler? Not the poster, I'm talking about the one and only Mikkel.

Nope I've never met him, and I've never seen him fight for real.

Back in the late eighties I was at the Jacobsen - Haugen card and Haugen walked right past me after his win. I said congratulations to him although he had just crushed the dreams of my all-time favourite danish fighter. Haugen just ignored me......

                      Lol.

Pretty much all my life riz. First fight I ever saw was the rumble in the jungle. Dad picked me out of bed in the middle of the night.
