as crazy as it is, i think gomez COULD get another title shot, just has to beat the WBC's #2 welterweight, Jesus Soto Karass, who just went to hell with a journeyman Gomez outclassed and TKO'ed.....Gomez vs Berto , he would get beat, but hey its a title shot and a payday......

Gomez is a waste of time......Cotto already showed us the facts of life as it pertains to him.....he needs to concentrate on singing,

Or we could have Gomez vs. Kermit Cintron. Or if Gomez natural weight is 140 then he can fight someone like Emmanuel Agustus. It makes perfect sense.

Anytime someone agrees to be a "Reality" show like The Contender, American Idol, Top Chef, Etc., they have to sign a contract that requires them to pay a certain percentage of future earning back to show. In some situations the performers even have dictated to them the conditions in which they are to gain those earnings.

On one hand, I can definitely understand how a contract like that would seem unjust. But in all fairness, no one is making them be on the show. That was their choice. And if you want instant credibility and marketing power, there is going to be a price to pay. If you think that price is going to be too much then don’t sign the contract and try to make it another way.

Here's a somewhat old(December after the Pacquaio fight), but very long interview with Alfonso where he discusses a lot of stuff.

Gomez has a lot of heart, and with the right match making he could get in line for anouther title shot. This is provided he stays active apon his comback.
