why is this criminal?? its just as criminal for marquez to be give an open title after just 1 fight at the weight.. at least khans been campaining at the weight for years.. or maybe it should go to diaz but no because he just lost them an shouldnt deserve a crack again immediatley so hes out the picture.. or maybe anthony peterson is more deserving even tho hes fought journey men all his life?? or joan guzman who was given his shot and flunked it as he couldnt make weight?? theres all your top ranked wbo lightweights so can you now not see that ITS NO MORE CRIMINAL for barrera or khan to get the belt then it is for any of the others.. fact is when a belt is vacant it isnt deserved to anyone but it goes the person whos lucky enough to be number 1 and in this case thats barrera so it fair.. rules are rules and nobody told campbell to come in having eaten 1/4 pounders all week did they.. who ever wins the vacant belt will just have to prove they are worty by defending it!

Nothing frank warren does surprises me anymore and knowing his connectinons with the WBO they will sanction the fight as a world title fight. If khan gets past barrera and wins the title, he'll be in at the deep end. Theres no easy fights in that division. But, I suppose we'll find out if the kid is for real, alot sooner!

Just another reason why Warren is a joke for Boxing. I wouldn't mind it being a title eliminator, as both fighters have not deserved a title shot at this stage. The winner then should face Funeka for the title.

This fight is wrong on so many levels.

Well see
Old school fighters gradually increased their level of competition and fought a variety of styles of fighters who could genuinely test them but who weren't the elite, while they learnt. Khan has never done that. He fought bums until Prescott, then after Prescott, ***an was a bum, and Barrera (although he is an all time great) is small and faded. Plus he was never taught the fundamentals of professional boxing until he teamed up with Roach two months ago. If he can beat Barrera he needs to fight some non-elite fighters who can genuinely test him before he goes to the elite - just like the old school fighters used to do. Holyfield faced far more competition in his first 10 fights or even in his first 5 fights than Khan faced in his first 20, that's the point. Roach has said repeatedly he can take Khan to the top if he's given a year or two, but he needs that time and another 4-6 fights.

A world title on the line?

Now this fight is real serious.

Khan as a world champion, what next? Audley gets a one off title shot too?

David Diaz was rated #2 contender by The Ring, i.e. as the third best Lightweight, when Pacquiao beat him, and after beating him, Pacquiao was rated at #3 in the division, not #1; so you've got your facts wrong.

Also all caps is very hard to read, and comes across as shouting - please could you show more consideration for the people reading your posts.

That Diaz was rated 3 was criminal itself, the bloke literally has no respectable wins on his resume.

I have no problem with pac fighting him if it had been to get the other champions at LW to fight him rather than what he did do, in fatc manny is totally not to blame for anything period, it's just not a great win.
