I Disagree With Everyone About The Cintron Fight

Cintron maybe won four rounds. He was competitive in most of them, but in a scoring sense he clearly lost. I wasn't impressed with either guy.

My point was that I usually give the pure boxer way more respect then the brawler and even I thought he lost alot of those rounds that people gave to him. He was just moving alot of times and not doing anything

He did more than Cintron, who did land a few good right hands after the 7th round. But it was clear that Martinez knocked this guy out, Cintron complained so much to the ref, he made the ref change his mind.

I never got to see the full replay on that so its hard to tell but from those 1st few replays they showed, it seemed like it couldve been a fair thing to me what the ref said. I mean Cintron jumped up and was complaining about the headbut and the ref was telling him that it was a punch while at the same time he's walking Cintron to the corner. That is what refs do on alot of regular knock downs at the end of rounds. They start walking the guy to the corner. I bet if the count only got to 6 and Cintron got up then no one would say that the ref changed his mind. They only say that because he hit the count of 10 at the same time and the bell rung at the same time so it had the look that the fight was over but if the count was only at 6 then I bet everyone would seem more understanding then they are now

I thought that Cintron was kind of in the fight going into the 11th round, but to me he clearly lost 11 and 12. I think I had it 6 to 4 going into the 11th with Martinez up an extra point from the knockdown so with the spectre of losing a point I felt Cintron could possibly do something because really he had been sort of comming on. Like I said though he lost the last two rounds in my eyes so the point deduction only served to make the fight closer.

I did feel the HBO crew was all over Martinez's nuts though, I personally thought Max wanted to give the guy some dome piece.
