I feel Gamboa is the real deal. He just needs to stay hungry and keep his hands up. When he puts his hands down, he scares me. I am shaky on how his chin will be when he goes agaisnt bigger and better competition.

So pick your option for Yuriorkis Gamboa but remember, you might be proven wrong so pick carefully.
Good thread kswizzy99 you called it just right too a lot of guys that were ****ing the drum for Gamboa have disappeared. I made a thread about him and people were saying he has a glass jaw, but he has never been knocked out and, when he has been hurt its been when he has been too reckless etc. He was knocked down by an elbow in one fight too.

Props to Reed he did say a long time ago that he expected Gamboa's lack of defence to cost him at some stage.

            thanx dk.

yeah I made this thread for the irrational idiots. PPL saying that Gamboa is going to get destroyed by 6 of the top fighters in the division. PPL even had him losing before everyone of his last 4 fights. Its ridiculous. I don't get how you could watch gamboa fight and not see how incredibly skilled he is. Just a bunch of haters.

but really, nobody has been proven right yet. We'll see what happens.

Gamboa can become the real deal but we'll have to wait and see, he needs to work on a few things.

Yessir, the dude's got remarkable skills, ala Zab Judah. Needs to work on his defense and be just a little more patient so he can set up his attacks without getting cracked. Tucking that chin might help too.

I don't think he'll ever be a guy with a hands up defensive style, I used to think he could change but I don't think he will now, I think his team should work on his movement, let him do what he likes to do, get in and out quickly while throwing those very quick shots. Maybe get him to keep his hands up in certain situations like when he's buzzed or when he's on the ropes etc. but don't make him keep his hands up all the time, it actually makes him worse as a fighter.

I agree about tucking his chin in though, that chin gets way too high.

The dude has all the speed and skills in the world, But damn he goes down in every single fight that I've seen him in although he gets back up. Just wait till he fights somebody decent before we make a decision.
