Vasquez is probably the best example of the mexican style of boxing (good chin, take 2 to land 1, hard-hitting, etc..) today. Vasquez is never in a bad fight. Vasquez is classy outside the ring as well as inside the ring. In general most boxing fans like this guy and respect him...

Why hasn't Vasquez been crowned as the quintessential mexican boxer??? why do mexicans continue to defend margarito or bandwagon prospects instead of lifting up Vasquez as their champion???
Vasquez doesn't need anything to be hyped up. He is already proven and has the respect of majority of the boxing fans. What more could you ask for??

Cotto's english is getting better as well.

Other than speaking little english he's on the same boat as margarito. Both train, live, and fight out of california. Except margarito was actually born in torrance.
Yeah, you think that would be a strike against Tony, but he did move back to Mexico. Where Vazquez left Mexico for California. But hell, Morales left Mexico for California as well, last I heard he's still living there.

I have no idea why the Mexican fans on here don't support Izzy that much.

Though it's much different in real life, the Mexican people always come to watch Izzy scrap.

On a side note, Barrera's mastery of the English language really shocked me.

I think i has to do with the fact that margarito beat cotto who is a good fighter. You also have to throw in the whole rivalry with puerto rico.

That could be true. If Vazquez beats Lopez (which will be a tough task), I'm sure his fanbase on here will skyrocket.
