i believe cotto could be p4p#1 in 2010......

It's a tad long so bear with me if you can.
his next fight is the first step in that direction.

IF he is not permanently damage by the marga fight,
(which is very possible) he's on his way.
by no means do i think the jennings fight is a given for cotto.
    this is his first fight back from the marga fight;
and we have yet to see what he looks like in the ring,
after that heart breaking loss last year.
i expect jennings to be a consummate professional who'll fight his best
(so i hope so)for as long as the fight lasts.
but in the end i see cotto winning this.
    that's one trinket down.
next, i would love to see a unification tourney at welter,
between mosley, cotto, berto, and clottey.
this in my opinion, would be an incredibly entertaining,
and competitive way to resolve all the abc bull**** at welter
(like they had at middle in 2001).
hbo needs to pony up the money for this.
this would do very well in my opinion.
    everybody should get even money,
even if shane and cotto are the biggest names.
i think both of them would take even money,
if the undisputed title is on the line.
i think the mosley cotto rematch should be for the championship so,
match up cotto with clottey or berto, and mosley with the other.
put both fights on the same card,
and have the four belts with the ring magazine belt on the line.

cotto can lose vs all those guys; but he can beat them all as well.

IMO, i think berto would give him his toughest fight.
berto, is young, gifted, and showed alot of heart in his last fight.
he's got the power, and the hand speed to trouble cotto.
a victory for cotto would hinge on him returning to his bread and butter,
    and improving his defense(D-FENSE!).

clottey, though i believe is one of the most underrated fighters in the world,
has yet to show that he has what it takes to become a great fighter.and it all has to do with his opponents.i blame bob arum for that.he's a very good combo puncher, with very good defense, and average stamina.
his stamina is worse than cotto's.

Shane.now, shane looked great against collazo, and looked okay vs cotto.
he looked great against margarito, and he'll look okay vs cotto.
margarito was a big target, so he had a field day in the ring that day.
but theirs a lot less of cotto to hit.even shane said it after their fight.
some people have this idea that mosley was robbed.
which is utterly ridiculous.i don't remember the score i had.
but the rounds i had for cotto, where clearly cotto's,
and the majority of rounds i had for shane where closer.

this is why, depending how he looks vs jennings,
and how much the fight vs marga affected him long term,
i see cotto beating shane again.
he could just as well lose to all of them, but i believe in cotto.
i pray to him everyday. j/k
if everything goes as i planned, (which will most likely not happen)
cotto will be the undisputed welterweight champion of the world,
by the end of this year.

than next year, he pulls a joe louis vs max schmeling 2, and whoops margarito's ass into retirement.

after all this occurs( if it does)
i can see hatton(if he beats pac),
or mayweather(if he comes out of retirement),
or pacquiao(if he beats hatton, and continues fighting, mainly against may)
    wanting a fight with cotto.
and if cotto becomes the victor out of one of those,
I'd say he would be the best p4p fighter in the world.
(i see diaz beating marquez, and hop retiring by that time)

    yer thoughts?

If Pac goes undefeated during the year he will stay number 1.

If Cotto beats Jennings, Berto, and Mosley, he'll be inside the top 5. Don't know if you can put him over B-Hop, Marquez(depending on what he does this year), and Pac. If Cotto has that year and Marquez and Pac lose, and Bernard retires, than yea he'll be number 1. But that's asking a lot.

It's not really important and it's really a reach. Just take one fight at a time.

I think so too. If he unifies the belts, which is looking very likely. I know that the Pac fight will be there for him and that's the one that's going to make him number 1. Then if Margacheato isn't banned he can go and give him the beating he so rightfully deserves.

its logic. but in all truthfulness we have to say all of this after the jennings fight.

but other than that i agree bro.

He'd definitely go to the top 5 if he was to win the fights you mentioned, and look good doing it. However, if Pac beats Hatton, there's really no more real threats for him LWW and down, so maybe even Pac would try to get mixed in the WW division, and I see him still holding the #1 P4P position, if he was to beat a solid name there.

Well said, i agree. the order i would like to see is,
after cotto beats jennings and takes the WBO he should fight:

              1) Berto. IMO cotto is to seasoned and experienced for berto. Cotto by KO, Cotto takes WBC title, and probley the RING title as well.

              2) Mosley rematch. I see the the fight going just about the same way it did the first time they fought. Cotto by UD but is very close. Cotto takes back WBA title.

              3) Clottey. Clottey doesnt fight that often, and when he does i have never been that impressed. I see Cotto winning by UD or mabey even a late round stoppage. Cotto takes IBF title.

              4) By this time Cotto has to be considered the p4p best in the world. Next fight, 3 options:
              - Hatton if he beats pacman. i see cotto knocking hatton out easy in a tough fight while it lasts.
              - Pacman if he beats hatton. Cotto is to big for pacman to handle plain and simple, pacman has nexer been hit by someone that can hit like cotto. Cotto by late KO.
              - last option floys gayweather. But lets be honest floyd doesent fight people who have a chance to beat him so it will never happen.
If it did it is anyones fight. IMO i can see cotto outworking floyd and winning a decision.

pac would have to lose. the people in the p4p list have to fight someone. cotto by cleaning out the welterweight division will most likely put him number one

yeah pretty much.i do believe that if he becomes undisputed,
floyd, hatton, and pac would want to fight him.
i see pac beating hatton, and fighting floyd.
cotto does all that ****, he meets the winner of pac hatton.

I have to reserve judgement on Cotto until after this fight.
His last loss was bad so I want to see if he is now what he was before.
