He earned the right to greatness by beating greatness. For God's sake he made Tszyu QUIT! That alone is worthy of greatness.

If you are saying he's limited technically then I don't think too many would disagree, but you have to respect his achievements and give credit where it's due.

I think the pacman fight would give hatton the respect he finally deserves, The fight would be at 140 which would be hatton ultimate weight and after the way he fought in his last fight against paulie M i would certainly give him more respect.

        Why?

He is a decent fighter, but I don't think he is as good as some of the Brit fans make him out to be.

realistically then, looking at all the facts.

How good is he according to you?

Not being subjective, but just looking at the black and white of his record.

            How good is Ricky Hatton?

We have to be honest about Hatton; he is not a great fighter. If he was, he would not be great in the same way that Pacquiao is. It has even been disputed by his most asinine critics that he is just a journeyman and a very lucky one. He has just been fortunate to have the right connections and an endearing personality.
I love this sort of article. It's going to be such fun to revisit it after Hatton beats Pacquiao..

Yes, I agree. The Pacman fight would give hatton the respect for the canvass he finally deserves when he hits it, in addition to the ringpost.

Hatton is on the same level as Gatti. Difference is Gatti is a fighter not a wrestler he will punch inside where as Hatton will look to tie his man up,lean on him, push him into the ropes, then throw.

Gatti has more power, better chin, better boxing skills.
Yes! Hatton doesn't ever hold, he uses the clinch for a split second and works.

If you believe Gatti has a better "chin, power, and boxing skills" then Hatton, you're a delusional hater. Any objective boxing expert would know that Gatti was no way near Hatton, skills wise. Hatton demolishes just about every good fighter he's faced while Gatti struggled with tomato cans and lost to just about every elite fighter he fought... And I am a huge Gatti fan!

Perfectly said, people tend to forget he only has one lose on his record, And that was against the best fighter since SRL.

Hatton lost to the best fighter of his generation and Pac got KTFO by 3 nobodies tasting the canvas more then Hatton ever has. At least Hatton can say he lost to the best unlike Pac, at least until he loses to Ricky!
