Hatton has mastered the clinch to disrupt other fighters timing and ALWAYS works off it without holding. When there's holding in a Hatton fight it's only because his opponent is holding to force a break. The last thing Hatton wants is to hold and then have the referee break it up since Ricky takes many shots to get and stay inside where he does his best work.

Gatti could hold, clinch all he wanted and he could never come close to beating the fighters Hatton has. If the Hatton/Gatti fight ever happened you all would've seen that Gatti wasn't in the same class as Hatton, but then again it would be the old "past his prime, shot, blown up etc." excuses afterward...

Kostya and Castillo were past prime but they were both in the top 10 P4P when Hatton beat them.
And the majority of posters here were predicting Hatton would get KTFO against both Tszyu and Castillo. Neither Tszyu or Castillo were "shot" before fighting Hatton and many here thought Castillo would be even better at 140 not having to drain himself making 135.

Hatton has been a huge draw way before Floyd. That's why he has sold out arenas for years now and gotten huge contracts from Showtime and HBO to air his fights, so some Americans must appreciate his style.

Hatton has been a huge draw since the Thaxton fight. At least locally. And if you're going to tell me that Britain doesn't count, how big a draw was, say, Mayweather when he didn't have any titles?

rubbish, I'm not a Hatton fan.

But a two-weight world champ with one solitary defeat on his record to the pound for pound no1.

Lucky Journeyman?.......that is so so so insulting and disrespectful it's unbelievable. It's also wholly ignorant and can only allude to a warped hidden agenda as it has zero basis in fact.

I find Hatton exiting. He never rests and he chases his opponents like a God damn magnet And those bodyshots are cool! And he does not have that ****** attitude many boxers have. He's a great guy.

It was a very close decision, as Hatton himself freely admits. It was not, however, 'dubious'.

this is a very risky fight for pacman. i believe hatton hits harder than marquez but skillwise marquez is better ofcourse.

So your saying Hatton's opponents are more guilty of holding than Hatton?

Hatton is on the same level as Gatti. Difference is Gatti is a fighter not a wrestler he will punch inside where as Hatton will look to tie his man up,lean on him, push him into the ropes, then throw.

Gatti has more power, better chin, better boxing skills.
