If he was, he would not be great in the same way that Pacquiao is. It has even been disputed by his most asinine critics that he is just a journeyman and a very lucky one. He has just been fortunate to have the right connections and an endearing personality.

I think this is a little unfair but they do have a point. Hatton is erratic. Since he destroyed the legend of Kostya Tyszu in 2005, undoubtedly a magnificent achievement, his record has been patchy. He split from Frank Warren and went to America to make himself into a superstar. At least that has been accomplished. His first fight in the US in Boston in 2006 was at a weight and country he had never fought in. One could say it was a courageous move but one could also argue it was a ****** one, as he should have taken on a softer opponent compared to Louis Collazo.

Collazo’s southpaw stance and range gave him a lot of trouble. Nevertheless, Hatton did his best and came out with a dubious decision.
I think he deserves alittle more credit than that. I know he is a cheeky bastard but he's made me a fan over the years. You also can't really argue the fact that 140 is the hatton wonderland. It may not be as deep a divison as WW, but he is dominant nonetheless. If Ricky could beat Pacman and then maybe fight Tim Bradely in England, he's got all the makings of a legendary career.

Uhhh how has he been top 10 P4P for the last 5 or 6 years when 95 percent of his fights were at 140? He just moved up recently for only 2 fights at 147 and got knocked out in one and BARELY won the other? And alot of people thought he llost that one too. So how is he P4P?

              Relevance?

The poster is referring to his P4P standing in The Ring Magazine.

You obviously don't know what the P4P list is, come back when you find out.

Why would somebody write (or C&P) something and end it talking about 2006 when it is now 2009? Did they realise mid-post that what they were writing (or C&Ping) had no validity?

i always thought hatton was one win away from (atg) status.he got thew kostya, win, he needs one more.the pac fight would be that win.but as far as what number, he's near the bottom.you need 2 GREAT WINS imo to be an all timer.

I dunno why anyone responded to this thread after I made my first post. The thread starter copied a small part of an article from another boxing site and posted without it crediting the original author. It's not worth replying to.
