He didn't look fat at all in the weigh in.
Father time just caught up with him.
If you can only lose a 1/2 pound after four hours in a gym, you gotta get outta that weight division, that's for sure.

^ That's all it is. I'm not so sure he could have dehydrated any more. He looked pretty lean. That weight wasn't coming off in a matter of a few hours.

Basically just means that he needs to move up.

Why do people think he was sitting around eating Dorito's the day before the weigh in. Sometimes its just not physically possible to dehydrate yourself, especially at the age where your body doesn't respond like it does when you are in your 20's.

Nate needs to win this fight in dominating fashion if he hopes to salvage this situation at all. Then maybe he can hook up with GBP and go after the lineal title...Provided he can really get back down to 35. Otherwise making a jump to 140 and taking on a Urango or Bradley to grab another title would be a good move.

Nate is moving to 140. There will be no future attempts to make 135 regardless of the offers, because his body just wont go there anymore. Trying to take a fight now at 135 would be spitting in the face of the fans, the sport, and everyone involved, because we now know he cannot make 135 again......

At least he did this against a mandatory and not in a mega fight between pacquiao/marquez/diaz

I'm shocked. It's funny, you read all these articles about how hard he's worked to get to where he is and then you sit there and wonder how in the most important stage of his career, he can come in over weight just to seemingly piss everything he's worked for away. It is kind of sad in a way because he doesn't have anymore time to get back to where he is/was. If he wins, no one will give him an opportunity because without the belts, he's high rish, low reward and if he loses, well he might as well retire because another title shot will evade him for the rest of his career. Truly, truly sad.

Only thing with that is that GBP

                a) knows that Nate is an old dog and will be on his way out shortly, and

                b) the most important one, Nate **** all over GBP last year so I have a hard time believing they would sign him after that little stint. Who knows though, maybe he can walk through the doors, tail between his legs and apologize with GBP being sympathetic enough to bring him on board.

Nate moving up to 140 is really going to add some excitement to an emerging division. Maybe he'll be able to land a crack at Hatton or Pacman. But even without that, Judah is supposed to be moving down to 140, and with all of the talent in the division there are a lot of possible exciting matchups.

We would have no problem taking a Judah fight.
