Khan/Barrera Pay-Per-View To Be Shown in The US

I wouldn't send Amir Khan on a vengeance mission personally, not against someone like Barrera anyway.

You're probably right about Hamed and Warren splitting before Barrera, infact, I'm almost positive you are. Still, I always figured Warren may have had a bit of a personal hatred for Barrera for that one.

And you're right, Khan isn't exactly the guy you send off to get revenge against a guy like Barrera, not at all.

this is no ppv material, not even close. These two at the present do not deserve ppv status. Barrera is past his prime, Khan has yet to prove himself to be an elite fighter.

I've got a feeling that another young British-Asian boxer is going to lose to the Mexican legend. I see Khan losing like Naseem Hamed did all them years ago, but not in a similar fashion. Berrera is stepping up a few weights and is 34 now; Khan on the other hand is young and is actually quite big for a lightweight.

It depends how "past it" Berrera is, if he has the gusto to fight - Khan and his chin are in trouble, if his sluggishness reflects his age then i can see a hyperactive Khan winning on the scorecards, still, i think Berrera will probably knock him out - just when Khan feels he is pushing for the win.

After the result of Khan's previous 30 seconds in the ring, Barrera is the last thing Khan needs.

In his last 30 seconds in the ring Khan was knocking out ***an. ***an, heaven knows, is no great shakes, but he is normally durable and recently lost a split decision to Paul Spadafora. More importantly, Khan looked a completely different fighter against ***an compared with any of his previous fights, far better tactically, far more disciplined, and far better defence - Roach has already made a big difference to him.

IMO Frank Warren already considers Khan damaged goods, and not worth protecting, so they are throwing the kid to the lions for some quick cash. Big mistake for Khan, and a decent payday for his promoters - Sports Network.

I think you're misreading Warren completely, that's not his style. Matching a young prospect against a faded legend is what Warren is best known for doing - he's done many times before, usually successfully. He's confident because Roach is confident - he wouldn't have taken the fight without Roach's backing. Roach honestly believes Khan can win this one, and while Roach's opinion is not infallible, he is a true boxing expert, and has a reputation for being brutally honest.
