what happened to this jeff lacy?

obviously he's never had a great defence but his power seemed so much more and so did his speed. nowadays he is slow and plodding.

How on earth did all those predictions that Joe wouldnt hear the bell for round 3 come about? got to say it,he looked bad back then.the only thing he seemed to have in abundance was power.he was slow, his footwork shocking, and his defence non existent.

He wasn't doing great, look at him in this fight. He was getting beat to the punch, out jabbed, outworked and out boxed by a complete nobody before the knockout. All Calzaghe needed was a chin and his is one of the best in the game. He did expose the hype that is Jeff Lacy which was a great achievement.

this is exactly how he fights now. no difference. actually, i think he looked better in the Taylor and Mendoza fights then he did here. He just can't box for the life of him. He is just a puncher not a boxer.

I think it had to do with Jeff's crowning victory over a former Calzaghe opponent Robin Reid. I guess people thought he was still in his prime when Lacy won the fight.

I agree. It has to be a combination of the Calzaghe beating, and the left shoulder injury.
