No they dont. Why would they? people are individuals and, if someone is dumb enough to think their race is better at something than another race and that, that somehow means they must be superior, because they have that complexion they are thick as two short planks.

Im an individual im not the same as anyone else white or black.

I was only saying that if Barak ***** was ALL white... and still stood for everything that he does at this moment, it wouldn't have been any less of a victory. If we were as black as a moonless night on the ocean floor... it wouldn't be any more of a victory. I'm a white guy, with a Mexican girlfriend, and I hope we have a black baby someday (though I don't know how we'll work that out)... because I've just met so many people of every different color that I admire. It's to the point where I eventually had to quit noticing color all together because there are no stereotypes... there are no molds, so why even pay attention to color.
exactly. i live in south florida which is a melting pot for ppl of all races, ethnicites, and backgrounds.....i don't know how the hell racists survive down here. LOL

p.s. i'm black w/ a white girlfriend from new hampshire by-way-of ukraine. best girl i've ever gotten to kno......before that i had a puerto rican, and before that were two peruvians. i stopped giving a **** about race when i was like 8 mos. old!

I think there's nothing wrong with it, except when is taken to extremes. When you only support fighters because of their race and nationality, that's when it goes wrong. Race or nationality to me are not important at all, skill and style are hat matters to me. Miguel Cotto could be black and from Somalia, I would still be his fan because I like his boxing style, the fact that he's puertorican is just a plus.

To an extent, you can be. If you were out there, teaching him the game, it bonded you two and you both shared moments. Yes. That has a lot to do with potentially you developing the child and teaching him things.

If he just joined the team and happened to be good? No. You can be happy, and happy you were alive to see it, but not proud in any other sense.

disagree. that's like saying black people shouldn't be proud of barack *****.

i don't see anything wrong w/ identifying w/ someone and rooting for them based on their race. like dude said, it gets sketchy when you "don't root for someone" or put someone else down based on theirs.

IMO it makes some boxing matches more interesting, it's good for the sport.
They shouldn't be proud in Barack ***** because he's black. They should be proud with themselves for picking the best candidate.

DEFINITION: pleasure or satisfaction taken in something done by or belonging to oneself or believed to reflect credit upon oneself.

Now, if you notice within the definition, it says something done by or belonging to oneself.... I happen to not believe that people belong to a certain race. I happen to believe it's apart of you, be it culturally or nationally, but you should NOT be defined by your race or nationality.

Absolutely... I fail to see the need for ever including race into the equation... but those who are biased TOWARDS their race are far more annoying than any of those biased against other races.

Idiot before there was Tito or Cotto, my favorite fighters were Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. I am a fan of all types of fighters Kessler, Kirkland, Linares, Areola, Dawson and many more. I'm a fan of boxing, not of skin color or a country.
