Why In The World Should Floyd Fight Shane "Now"?

I predicted that he wouldnt fight Shane "now" and I think its an excellent move but people still rip him for it. It just makes no sense for "Floyd's" legacy to fight Shane now. I say Floyd's legacy because if its someone else then it doesnt matter but they will definatly down play it if Floyd beat Shane now without Shane looking awesome again, e****aly now after we know that Margarito was previously using plastered hands. It makes way more sense for Pac to beat Hatton, Shane to beat a scrub, and Cotto to beat Berto in June. That way you can then have a Floyd-Pac and Shane-Cotto fight right around the same exact time in September or whatever and the winners face eachother. If you dont want Shane to fight a bum 1st then let him fight Clottey. Either way both Shane & Pac definatly need 1 more big win against these top fighters at these weights for Floyd to get full credit and your crazy if you dont beleive that. Also, as I say in the link below, it would ruin his fight with Pac if he were to beat Shane now. The Pac-Floyd fight is super huge if he fights Pac off a 2 year layoff but if Floyd beat Shane now then everyone would pick him to beat Pac and the fight wouldnt be as huge. It makes much more sense to fight Pac 1st, without a doubt.

I think you are right in your overall point, but your warrant and reasoning behind it makes no sense.

I think the real reason that Mayweather should not fight Shane Mosley is as follows:

Just because Mosley dominated a limited fighter one-sidedly does not mean that people will give Mayweather credit for beating him. As soon as he wins, a lot of people are going to say that Mosley was old, and shot.

    You think I'm lying?

Consider that Oscar De La Hoya dominated a limited fighter in Mayorga, and looked great doing so, and then became shot the moment he lost to Mayweather.

Anyone care to disagree with this?

I really think the first post makes 0 sense... taking away the hype about Mayweather-Pacquaio...

Floyds legacy, he has beaten no one. Yet hes ranked in the top 100. But, it wouldn't make sense to fight Mosley, because it'd be another old guy. That's what leads us to Berto, and Cotto. He should not beable to retire in like two more years, but the boxing commuinty, belives in him. FDor some reason, when I think of Floyd, I think of Hector Camacho, bad mental pictures.

**** Floyd.....He has no legacy. He'll be remembered as a smart assed little punk that ducked top fighters in his divisions to retire undefeated. He should fight Mosley but he knows better......scary lil *****.

You're wrong PBF gets no credit for fighting and beating MANNY PAC.
This is a perfect time for PBF to fight Shane. I don't know why PBF is so bitter towards Mosley for turning him down in '07
If Mosley had fought PBF maybe PBF wouldn't have gotten his biggest payday in the historic fight with De La Hoya
I think PBF-Mosley is the best fight to be made right now. PBF would be a small favorite and would get the bigger pot....
PBF fighting Hatton again or Manny Pac makes no sense it diminishes his legacy even further

Yes I care to disagree....first of all De La Hoya did not look "Great" against Mayorga. Mayorga just looked bad. secondly comparing Mayorga with Margarito is INSANE. When Shane beat Margarito, Margarito was on TOP of the Weightweight division by beating then undefeated assassin Miguel Cotto. Mind you both Margarito and Cotto were said in the boxing public to have the best chance to beat PBF
So PBF should fight the dominant of the 3 which is now Sugar Shane Mosley

Beating SSM would look great for PBF. SSM is a hall of famer is not shot/old.
He actually has the best chance to beat PBF

Mosley need to redeem his loss to Cotto 1st and foremost. I would love to see Floyd against Mosley, Pacman, or Cotto. So if your scenario worked out I would be happy. But i don't think him fighting Mosley now would ruin Pacman and him though (except for the fact i hold Mosley in higher regard than Pacman?, both fights would be intriguing and Pacman fight would be more lucrative.

Why was he so quick to fight Mosley after the Vargas fight then? Bottom line is I think Floyd is retired and wants to be that way for now. Of course things may be different on May 3rd.

there ain't much difference between Mayorga and Margarito except that mayorga is the better boxer and tougher than margarito. 1 fight doesn't put you on top of the world. Ask Buster Douglas!
