I hear all this BS from people who haven't watched boxing long enough to know that Bernard hopkins was not a better fighter now then he was when he was 28 years old. When he was 28 he was undefeated at 160 before Roy, lost to Roy, then went on a 12 year winning streak until he was 40 and lost to Jermaine Taylor who was 28. He may have gained knowledge in the ring but only because he had to. Like Shaq. He got smarter but as he los athletic ability and stamina, he got worse. Gettin smarter and wiser and craftier helped an already freaky tough guy in Bernard Hopkins stay in the game, and stay great. Guys like pavlick wouldn't last eight rounds with him at any time before the age of 33. Which brings me to this, Roy fought Bernard pretty close to his best, and a much better version than the one that beat pavlick. And Roy improved more after that fight than Bernard did. Can you imagine what a prime Roy would do to kelly pavlick. Five rounds max while he lands anything he wants dancing and doing back flips the whole time. A prime Roy would be way to quick for Bernard, and Bernard doesn't have the stamina to keep up with a prime Roy. Bernards only chance against Roy was when he had stamina and an unrelenting attack that wouldn't allow Roy to pot shot, or set up shots. But in the end that wasn't even close to enough as even though it was Roy's toughest fight of his prime career, his speed and reflexes made it impossible for even a beast like hopkins to overcome and Roy descisioned him easy with one hand. Any other version than Beast-non-stop-aggressive Bernard showing up for Prime Roy looses every round against Roy and I think this version that we see today may get stopped, by a prime Roy Jones Jr.
Prime RJJ beats any version of Hopkins.
