Ricky will have to come in at his very best and much improved self to turn the tables on a predetermined Pacquiao.

Hell have to be quicker with his shots and counters as he applies pressure if he expects to pull major upset.

One of his flaws is leaving himself open to counters while he strikes.

definitely this would be a war... If hatton can be a sharpshooter counter-puncher like JMM he will win for sure, but he isn't... He is a brawler and a hugger... If ever hatton catches pacquiao and wrestle him, then pac's speed will be negated...

if hatton can roll back the years an throw in a performance like that against kosta tyzu then its hatton all the way pac wont have much chance he took shots hit with power and made one of the best welthers of all time look average and my bets with hatton his hungers there he wants p4p title could be his year wins this beats mayweather in a rematch then he deserves to be number one he certainly looked capable against malinaghie or however you spell it pacs getin a bit big for his boots hatton says when he beat tyzu he got and arogance thinkin he couldnt be beat then pbf taught him a boxin lesson i think pacs got that chip on his shoulder now and this fight will tell all

I would also like to know why having bigger calves is so important in boxing.

atton has fought his entire career at 140+.

Pac has had 8 fights 130 and above.

Hatton will be physically strong and probably the harder puncher.

His footwork is also better than pac's.

pac is ahead on most catagory's but hatton tops those three aspects.

One of the obvious reasons was of course, to be able to move quickly in bursts to trap or get away from the other guy. it might depend on the style employed by a boxer, but for terrific in-fighter like ricky it's a great bonus as it would allow him to zip inside there where he does the most damage.

also having great calf muscles provide an extra "spring" on punches, making punches like uppercuts more devastating.

calves also absorb the impact of the blows.

I'm afraid this also applies to pac. but given the power of these guys, if anyone of them could develop their counter-punching skills before their fight the match would be over real quick (this is easier said than done of course, counter-punching takes a long-time to master and requires great reflex and control on the part of the boxer). the fights with marquez and mayweather jr. exposed the defensive shortcomings of both pac and ricky.

Pacquiao will be shocked if Ricky gets KTFO in the first 3 rounds.
