As we all know, Antonio Margarito was coming off a career-best victory against Miguel Cotto. Not only did he hand Cotto his first loss, he beat dat ass propa. Next, Tony signs to fight "Sugar" Shane Mosley, a fight alot of people (myself included) was going to be an easy fight for Margarito. Mosley was coming off a loss against the same man Tony defeated a couple of months ago and a victory against a game Ricardo Mayorga. Shane struggled a little bit against Mayorga, so all pointed to Margarito winning a decision against the aging warrior in Mosley. But things got interesting when a rematch between Cotto and Margarito was in talks. Now, this is what I THINK went down. Antonio overlooked Mosley and had Cotto in his mind the whole time. Tony thought that his pressure and workrate would be enough to defeat Mosley. "I'm Antonio Margarito, and he is not". "I'm red-hot right now and he is past his best and smaller than me, I don't have to try anything special with him". So here is Tony, over-confident as all hell, going into the fight getting his hands wrapped by his long-time trainer, Javier Capetillo who PROBABLY attempted something he shouldn't have. Then, ****m comes in and the rest is history. Walking into the ring, I sensed something was wrong with Tony's body language, it suggested he wasn't all in there mentally. Perhaps it was a "let's get this over with" mentality or perhaps it was the situation in the dressing room that bothered him. We all know what happened in the ring afterwards....and now we might never forget it.
I apologize for this being so long, but I just wanted to let it all out
