I used to love Van Exel. Too bad he was a crazy f---.

I remember when him, Kobe, Eddie Jones and Shaq all made the All Star team, the Lakers had a crazy team that year, just not enough to get past the Jazz for some ****** reason.

ALL RESPECT. but mj ruled the world.

mj game on the line and deeing up. there was no one better.
i should know watching 6 straight championships. 2 of them in the morning in asia.... and anyone i told i was from chi-town in asia would either say al capone or michael jordan... they would never say kobe , even today.

i got a lot more respect for kobe now, but mj was the sugar ray robinson of hoops.

Cool. But one thing you have to remember is that those 3 rings Kobe has, has a lot to do with the big man Shaq Daddy. Hmmn... But I do believe this is the Laker's year. NBA finals with Kobe vs Lebron, man the thought gives me goosebumps. Go Bulls! Errr, Go Lakers....

I agree, MJ is the Sugar Ray Robinson of hoops in the sense that no one will ever look at him as being anything short of being the greatest player ever.

I think Kobe will never reach that until he wins multiple championships as the star player of his own team without Shaq. Lebron James I think will one day surpass Jordan statistically but until he wins 6 rings he won't be there.

I think James has the best chance to surpass Jordan, he is just an amazing player. I've never seen anyone with his mixture of speed, court vision, athleticism, strength coupled with the ability to score from any spot on the court.
