He doesn't give me the impression he is confident at all. He fights tentively too even when he has his man well under. I put that down to a lack of confidence that he can win and still take a little bit more of a chance etc.

I know you will put it down to use his defensive nature, but personally dont see it like that at all.

I get what your saying but it depends on what point in time your talking about. At 154 against Oscar he was very cautious. Prior to that maybe the Baldomir fight was similar tactics. Anything from Judah and before I think he was pretty aggressive. When he goes into the shell he is hard to hit but he has fought aggressive besides the fights mentioned. It sounds more like you are talking about a Winky Wright type of fighter. I always felt Winky could do more damage being a little more aggressive but he tends to keep up the heavy defense even when his opponent is overwhelmed.

A small amount of fear is normal, not saying he's terrified, but just a little bit of doubt may have crept up on him. And like DK said, he looked amazing relieved when the Hatton fight was over. Even my girlfriend commented on this after the fight, saying how happy he looked that it was all over and done with.

Yes, I'm sure they are relieved, but Mayweather changed dramatically after the fight, more so than most other fighters tend to show. He turned into a nice dude! I just remember thinking "why can't he always be like this?"

I like that version of Floyd. I'd like to think he's like this all the time when the camera's are not focusing on him.
