Hopkins has no right to say Dawson brings no money. No one pays to see Hopkins, unless you enjoy a safety first fighter who uses dirty tactics and holds.

as for the fight, if Dawson can deal with those tactics and not lose his composure, i would think he'd win, but i could see Hopkins pulling out an ugly UD.

Every fight since the Taylor fights, Hopkins has been labeled as the underdog with "He'll lose due to workrate"

Chad Dawson is fast, but his defense lapses hurt him serverly. He's open for the right hand and he does not fight well in clinches or close. He's to wide open and even with that speed, Bernard can negate it.

Bernard Hopkins ALWAYS dictates the pace of the fight. The only one you could argue is Calzaghe, but even Calzaghe was still forced to fight under Bernard's clinching and rough tactics. Dawson cannot fight as well in the clinch to escape and is not as awkward and slippery as Joe was.

Chad Dawson is taller then Bernard Hopkins and also a southpaw. It allows Bernard's right to land home easier. That and Bernard seems to, based of the Kelly fight, throw more punches as of late. If he stuns Dawson with a right, he can follow that up.

The reason why Hopkins waited so long in the first fight was because he wanted to drain him into the long rounds and was cautious about Jermain's power. Jermain was like 23 wins 21 KOs at the time. The second fight he negated pretty much everything Jermain did and should have gotten the decision.

They need to do it. I'd love for Bhop to kick Chad's ass.

Dawson does have defense lapses, although it did improve against Tarver, but how is Hopkins suppose to capitalize on that when he's 44 years old? And his defense isn't bad, it's just no up to par with Hopkins or Calzaghe. But Dawson isn't someone you can easily outbox, he's a very skilled fighter himself, to say that Hopkins will just beat him is an overstatement especially considering that he's 44 years old.

Dawson's main weakness is that he sometimes likes to engage with sluggers (Tomasz Adamek and Glen Johnson). Pure boxers like Hopkins and JMM don't like to slug it out, they only do it when it's necessary. And he does sometimes suffer from defense lapses and doesn't move in lateral movement when he's on the defense.

He's 44, but looked 24 against Pavlik. Whether you call Pavlik one dimensional or not, Pavlik was the 3 to 1 favorite who was the favorite to beat him...by workrate. He's also the taller man. Obviously Pavlik didn't have the speed that Dawson has, but Pavlik was still a very legit opponent

Chad Dawson when throwing flurries, leaves himself open. Also Tarver was able to land his straight and right hook a lot. Hopkins throwing a flurry and then clinching would probably disrupt Dawson.

Dawson was very uncomfortable when in the clinch and he tries to break out of it by throwing flurries that lead him wide open. They aren't like Calzaghe flurries, where they are pitty pats that just score and so he can get out. Dawson leaves himself open for counters.

Chad Dawson has a rematch against Antonio Tarver that he shouldn't look past. I've been searching for Tarver-Dawson on my TV because I'd like to watch it again. Dawson won that fight because, for once, he refused to engage. He was as cerebral as I've ever seen him. But now there's talk of him possibly stopping Tarver and I could see him being a bit bolder in the rematch. Still a dangerous fight there.

That said, if he gets by Tarver impressively, Hopkins-Dawson goes down. Maybe the winner lures Joe out of retirement? Especially if it's Dawson who would be on the verge of superstardom if he's able to decisively beat the legendary Bernard Hopkins. Regardless, all this is a long time down the road.
