I had a feeling he would come around after Calzaghe retired, but he's going to want more money then he got for Pavlik. Good resume win for Chad. Taylor III is a more winnable fight for him though.

I don't think Dawson's chin will factor into this fight, and personally i don't think its necessarily glass anyway because when you think about, hes never been stopped and he took big shots from both Adamek and Johnson, both fighters i feel pops harder than Bernard. Also, who was the last person Hopkins stopped? Let alone light heavyweight. I think that the stamina and work rate of Dawson would minimize Hopkin's punch output. Lets not think that Hopkins will put up the kind of numbers he did against Pavlik on the stats.

200k if the fight is made please. Maybe more if you have it by the time, if the fight is made

I think Hopkins beats him pretty comfortably. Dawson does not have the defense or awkwardness that Calzaghe had. He's not going to be super inactive like he was with Taylor, who I still think Hopkins beat him in the second fight.

Hopkins will throw more off his counters and also clinch to seal up Dawson. Dawson's speed will be negated mostly and Hopkins wins a competitive decision.

We can bet 200k or however much i have by the time.

I personally feel that there was a reason why Hopkins didn't have high punch numbers in his fights with Joe or Taylor. IMO its because they have more than one weapon and the more times Hopkin's let his hands go, they were fast and reacted quick enough to counter him and he does not want to be hit. Steward stated last year stated that ''When Bernard felt Taylor's power in the first round of their first fight, he didn't open up much throughout the fight''. And Bernard not throwing many punches was not the only reason why he lost. Jermaine was physically strong enough and to have good success with Hopkins on the inside and counter him at some instances on the outside as well. What would he do with Dawson? Who technically brings more than Taylor, is a lot faster, left handed, naturally bigger, punches harder and is a better body puncher( which is important considering Hopkins age). I just can't see Hopkins matching the work rate of someone that's 18 years younger who's not one dimensional.

I just think this is a horrible style matchup for BHop. He won't be able to keep pace with Dawson I don't think. Dawson is no Pavlik.

Hopkins pretty much controlled the pace against Kelly which is why workrate and this his age wasn't a factor.

I can't see him being able to control the pace in a Chad fight as effectively.

all of B-Hop's L's have been to undefeated fighters with the ability to get off 3 and 4 punch combos in a blink.....Chad fits the profile but if there's anybody capable of a upset it's the MASTER of the upset, B-Hop himself

as i said in a thread of mine before i saw this one, hopkins loses to dawson.he possessed qualities that taylor, cal, and jones possessed.he's a southpaw with athletic boxing skills.

and he's actually bigger than hopkins.hopkins does not win this fight.

It'll be a close decision for Dawson and Hopkins will claim he is robbed when in reality he always has a disputable fight with slick, fast boxers (save for RJJ) in where the fight is always close.
