Sounds like Roach is a lil skeptical about Ricky Hatton. He sounds confident in Pacquiao's ability and chances to beat Hatton but then gives praise to Hatton's skills & how rough he is. Just like I said before on another thread (Hatton is NO Oscar De La Hoya). Manny is going to have to fight hard! & I bet Hatton will be more improved than the fight he had with PBF & Malignaggi. Freddie Roach knows the deal because clearly he's not underestimating Hatton like a lot of fans are.

freddy roach is a great trainer and a smart guy,but he seems 2 be underestimating hatton who is unbeaten at 140 lbs and has fought bigger and tougher guys than manny.im sure his game plan will be good but manny is no mayweather and has yet 2 be truly challenged above 130 lbsComment

why is everyone talkin bout underestimating hatton, when its truly not the case??did it say anywhere in the article that they are not going to train???as a matter of fact it the opposite, theyre preparing really hard for it so they would be ready comes the fight...however they are very confident that pacman is a better fighter thathattan, which we all know is true...pac is pound for pound number one and hatton is not ranked and hasnt realy beaten nobody since castillo and tzsyu...hes a b plus fighter at best...every british fan got all hyped op when he beat paulie, when we all know palie was shot after cotto and is not the same caliber as manny..just like how roy jones thought he could be the champ again coz he beat a washed up trinidad...goodluck.Originally posted by british_fan View Post

I agree with you 100%. Ricky Hatton has fought bigger punchers than Manny at 140 & 147 so I'm convinced he will be able to take shots from Pacquaio. The only thing I can see Manny doing is moving & working the ring with his foot work more but Hatton is not slow & does know how to cut off the ring & work his way to get closer to speedy fighters. Now that Floyd Sr. is teaching Hatton to move his head when he comes in & work the jab more then he could be a BIG problem for Pacquiao. The thing that gets me is that people say how devastating Pacquiao punches will be to Hatton but Manny couldn't even get Juan Manuel Marquez out of the ring TWICE & he knocked him down a combine 4 times in 2 fights. Plus Manny gets hit flush with power shots & doesn't have the best defense & Hatton has power & can shake a fighter up with his jab as we seen when he put PBF on his heels & snapped Malignaggi head back with them. What he stated is true. That Pac hasnt faced any decent fighters above 130, and Hatton at 140 has never been really tested.
U cant say Paulie was shot and not mention Oscar.
