a mauling style negates skills and speed by smothering... not even floyd was able to avoid the mauling, but floyd is supremely skilled and KOed Hatton anyways. although pac is good I dont think skillwise he's on the same level as floyd.

with this outlook Hatton should have owned FMJ. It should have been an easy night, wrestling the supposedly weaker slickster that was FMJ.

Hatton is not in Pacquiao's league, he's not in Barreras or Morales or even Marquez league ether.

How is Hatton going to avoid Pacquiao's left? his defense sucks, he sucks against southpaws, he cuts extremely easy, his chin isn't very good..I could go on and on.

Hatton's gonna come forward, underestimate Manny's speed like everyone does, eat a left then attempt to clinch, only he will lose his legs everytime the left lands. at about round 5 he's battered and has no answers. It doesn't matter if Floyd Snr supposedly turns him into an expert boxer, he doesn't have the build to be effective that way, he's got short stocky arms. The guy's been down 3 times in his entire career, So either his defence is Ok or he can take a shot...

He's never been stopped on cuts and to be honest he's only been seriously cut twice and one of those was a headbutt.

He struggles with Southpaws but has never lost to one so he cannot possibly suck against them.

I agree with you 100%. Ricky Hatton has fought bigger punchers than Manny at 140 & 147 so I'm convinced he will be able to take shots from Pacquaio. The only thing I can see Manny doing is moving & working the ring with his foot work more but Hatton is not slow & does know how to cut off the ring & work his way to get closer to speedy fighters. Now that Floyd Sr. is teaching Hatton to move his head when he comes in & work the jab more then he could be a BIG problem for Pacquiao. The thing that gets me is that people say how devastating Pacquiao punches will be to Hatton but Manny couldn't even get Juan Manuel Marquez out of the ring TWICE & he knocked him down a combine 4 times in 2 fights. Plus Manny gets hit flush with power shots & doesn't have the best defense & Hatton has power & can shake a fighter up with his jab as we seen when he put PBF on his heels & snapped Malignaggi head back with them. To me Manny has a chance to win & so does Hatton & if you read Roach's words carefully he thinks the same.

Infact after reading all the threads speaking on the destruction of Hatton, I think there is going to be plenty of people who are going to be shocked by what happens on May 2nd. I know hindsight is 20/20 and not to take anything away from Manny, but I really think the Oscar victory is more window dressing than anything allowing Manny to earn more money, but to assume that he is going to walk over Hatton is ludicrous. I believe it's Manny that has to prove something in this fight, because personally I believe he should be fighting at 135 against Marquez one more time. Diaz couldn't cut it but Marquez is the truth, and if Manny was able to pull off another win against him then I would be extremely impressed, unfortunately I see Hatton at 140 being too much, as well as anyone else with a pulse at 147.

i think people have calmed down now since the de la hoya win and realized manny is going 2 struggle against hatton.stop comparing the guy 2 mayweather cuz floyd would take manny 2 pieces guaranteed if they fought

I don't under estimate fighters, especially Hatton... Manny does not underestimate him... Roach doesn't too, though reading what he says make us think that he's underestimating Hatton, in fact... Roach and Ariza is already laying all the foundations for Manny Pacquiao's training preparations.

Business as usual, they said they would start training Pacman on March 2.
They are taking Hatton seriously... otherwise they'll just let Manny play hoops or golf in the Philippines if Roach really think it's that easy for Manny to beat Hatton.

Of course words are just words... what really makes people believe those words? If those words are put into actions.

Make all the comparing you want...I'd make my analysis when I see both camp's training.
