Fernando Montiel Pushing To Unify With Vic Darchinyan

Montiel is a lot slicker than Mijares. Montiel has more hand and footspeed than Mijares too.

I might be a bit biased, because im a Montiel fan, but i think he will outpoint Vic.

Mijares fought the worst possible fight against Vic and got KO'd, that was the fight that alot of posters here first saw Mijares fight and called him overrated. If Mijares fights with a good gameplan, he wins easy by wide UD even stoppage. Vic's chin ain't granite, Arce was hurting him whenever he landed and Vic would even grimace after every clean shot from Mijares. Montiel has to box every minute of every round to win, but he won't, he likes to mix it inside. I predict yet another KO win for Vic Darchinyan.

Montiel is waay slicker than Mijares.

Montiel footwork is much better than Mijares.

Mijares proved how open his defence was against Vic too. Mijares is a good counter puncher, but he does not use the same amount of movement as what Montiel does.

Ive seen Mijares against Arce too and he looked spectacular, but he is not what i would consider slick, he is just a good counter puncher.

Been wondering... Didn't Montiel say he couldn't make the weight anymore and backed out of a fight with Donaire? Why can he all of a sudden make weight for Darchinyan? People talkin about Vic making a name and who has Donaire fought better recognize how difficult it is for donaire to get any action...
