Joe would not go through Roy's resume undefeated.. he would of lost to hopkins, and yes hopkins was green at the time but so was Joe.. He could of lost to Toney, Griffin, and Hill.. He would have problems with Tarver and Johnson as well.. And i do not see Joe beating Ruiz either.. And if they would of met prime for prime i honestly cant see how Joe would win.. Joe is a good fighter and has some skills, but he couldnt carry roy's jock strap.. and Kessler?? Please!!! GTFOHComment

No doubt you think an old ass body snatcher woulda beat him too.
I stand by my statement...Calzaghes goes through it unbeaten

Joe and his father initially thought he lost the fight.. Joe threw amateur/girl like punches and did not land that many clean shots.. he had to resort to trying to butt **** a man in the ring.. and still got knocked on his ass by a 43 year old man.. got a GIFT split decision and retired because he knows he would lose if he ever fought Hopkins againComment

I love roy and i picked roy to win yet i still gave calz his props. out of prime or not roy still lost the fight and had a good chance to maybe hurt calz more in the first round but roy dont smell blood anymore. but calz put on a show and won the fight. like i said im a huge roy fan and never said anything bad about calz after the fight. lets just agree that there are roy fans that will always put roy higher than calz and vise versa. but still its hard to put calz over roy (win over him or not) since he moved up and won a HW title. yes ruiz was bad. prolly is one of the wrost HW champs ever. but roy did it. he moved up from MW to win a HW title. its not something that has been done every year. it took 106 years to do it. its a HUGE accomplishment. not every fighter could do it. wheather or not their body wouldnt let them go that much or not. roys did. roy tired. roy did it. not saying calz couldnt do it. he prolly beats ruiz bc if ruiz cant hold you he cant fight. roy proved that. but this thread is just a hate thread on both fighters. i like roy more than calz anyday but i give calz his due. calz won the fight. i think roy wins 6 years ago but i dont harp on that bc it didnt happen. so we have to go on what happend now. and calz beat roy.Comment

Roy unfortunately fought his best during a time when the middleweight division was the worst it ever was......the nineties. Hopkins and Toney were both garbage then, Toney is actually still garbage now. Roy wouldve definitely lost a couple of times even if he was at his prime now. He wouldve been forced to fight guys like Pavlik, PW, and AA. Calzaghe fought a bunch of garbage in Europe until he realized that he can make alot of money fighting some guys from the US. So you can say both have very similar resumes, except that Calzaghe actually was good all the way to the end while Roy fizzled quickly.Comment

So much to say, its not even worth it.
You are young and really no nothing about boxing
You are so wrong when you sayBernard was a novice fighter when Roy fought him. Or that Bernard was better when Joe fought him. Thats ridiculous. A 43 year old version better than a 28 year old.
Honestly, go watch Bernard film of the 90's. Hes twice as fast, twice as strong, twice as meen, and ten times more active. He would have beat Joe in his prime.
Please also go watch at least ten fights of Roy in the 90's. Remember, he got fighter of that decade. So go watch and find out why he got that honor. Then holler at me about Joe being better.
Ive watched Joes career, and he is a great fighter, but for 15 years Roy went through four weight classes, from 160-heavyweight, and never had a close fight. Joe stayed at one division and beat a whole bunch of mandatories at one weight. Then beat Jones 9 years after he was fighter of the decade and Bernard at 43.
I know you love Joe, but to insinuate that Bernard and Roy are anything close to what they were when they were 27, just shows me how deluded you are. Your mind is so warped to support Joe, you are imagining the impossible. Look at Jordan at 40, half the league was better than him. But still in his prime he was so much better than everyone. Its the exact same thing with Roy Jones Jr.Comment
