Is Boxing hurt by Calzaghe's retirement?

Is it? Besides in his home country, he wasn't much of a draw. His recent whining of the future of this sport has made him unpopular among the internet fans. The consensus here seems not to care at all by it. Mayweather's ( so-called) retirement hurt boxing in a way because he was a crossover star like Oscar and was close to transcending the spot as a "bad guy". So, Clazaghe's retirement hurt boxing or not?

Nah, Cal knew what time it was. He was 1 or 2 fights from experiencing his first official loss.

Not here in the states, I don't think there were many fans of his style of fighting. Cant speak for Europe.

Nope. He wasn't gonna rematch Bhop so I don't care, and most fans in general probably don't even care about that fight.

Mayweather's retirement certainly did not hurt boxing.
