I don't think he'll do very well. Crossover fighters haven't done so well. I think boxers have no idea how to defend againt takedowns, grapple, or utilize anything but their hands.

MMA fighter that attempt to crossover seem to know how to fight, but not how to box. Also, I know MMA fighters train hard, but nothing they do compares to the intensity that many boxing camps are centered around. A true camp is probably more work than its worth for them.

Not really, from a martial arts background. Matt Skelton started boxing at 35 and has had a pretty successful career .. rather more succesfull than this guy will, I suspect.

Yeah Skelton has a much better jaw and defense, forgot about him.

I know this is completely unrelated, but I'm about to log off anyways... I had no idea that the actor Mickey Rourke had a pro career... he fought bums but he won all of his bouts.... or maybe he lost once.

I like arlovski, 1 of the few MMA fighters I do like, but this won't end well

if he can't make it in MMa he won't make it in boxing. not that he's bad at MMA, but even Anderson silva got busted up by a journey man when he tried to box.

One thing, arlovski is way to stiff, he's gonna get Koed.

I think "cross-overs" from mma to boxing or vice versa might be a good thing for both sports. I think mma fans will naturally be interested in seeing their fighter in the boxing ring; however, HBO isn't planning on televising this bout. Maybe if Arlovski does good in his pro debut he'll get some air time if he boxes again (ESPN, Versus?)...

Arlovski just made a 1.5 million fighting MMA, so it aint money. Must be ego. Silly move too. He just doesnt have the background (or chin?) to go very far in boxing. He'll probably fight a bunch of jobbers anyway.

There is sparring footage of him and Fres Oquendo online and he didnt look all that hot to me, but I guess sparring is sparring, fighting is fighting, after all.

That is awesome. I'm looking forward to see how he does, because he does have some good stand up MMA. But it's so different from boxing, but one thing he'll bring with him from his MMA career is his power. Dude got some good power and speed.
