miguel cotto VS kermit cintron ?

it could happend , cotto weighs 154 at fight time and barely makes 140 now.

so if it happends @147 who wins and why ?

cintron is bigger (he is the bigger welter ive ever seen besides james page maybe) , but he is not as skilled as cotto.

i dont know if cotto hits that hard at 147 , but cintron conditioning may cost him. plus cotto defense is way better.

i would say Cotto by late rounds TKO.

    Are you kidding

Cintron is 6' When he enters the ring his weight is anywhere from 160-164. 77" reach. All you Cotto fans need to go and rewatch the fight between Cotto and Sosa. Pay particular attention to the 3rd round where Sosa, a former Jr Lightweight and Lightweight seriously buzzed Cotto with one right hand. Cintrons right hand will end the fight. PERIOD. Cotto is a good boxer, I do not deny that. But Cintron is to much for him. I love when people say everyone is more skiled than Kermit. Hopw does he keep knocking people out? Why does he have the highest KO % of any active fighter? How did he go from amateur to world champ in 4.5 years. Pretty good for a guy with "no skill!" Lets not forget that Kermit got his top 10 ranking by knocking out a legit top 10 WW.Not to mention Teddy reid had never been knocked down in his entire career! N'dou was a good tough fighter, but he began his career at 126, and came very close to beating Cotto!

Cintron has size on Cotto true...but where else does he have advantages? Cotto is a big Jr Welter and has serious power as well. He is clearly better than Cintron in every aspect of his game outside of power.

From what I could see Miguel was in complete control of himself and his fight against N'Dou. Sure N'dou is one of the toughest Jr. Welters right now and can make any fight look ugly. N'Dou tagged Cotto with some good shots but Miguel kept taking them and landing the more accurate, sharper punches. N'Dou came close to beating Sharmba is more like it.

Who has Cintron fought? If Teddy Reid was his best comp yet then it's sad because Reid was cracking Cintron with his slow, telegraphed power shots. Imagine what Cotto's heavy, quick, accurate shots would do to him. Cintron has more to prove and improve on than Cotto. Cotto clearly beat N'Dou, a man who gave may have beat Sharmba. He viciously KO'ed Sosa, who, granted is out of his natural weight class but went the whole nine with Floyd. A large number of people thought that Pinto would beat Cotto because of their history in the amateurs and he impressively proved them wrong.

With regards to Cintrons right hand...I don't think he's as quick as he could be when the throws them. N'Dou was somewhat swarming Cotto and smothering him with punches. Contiron isn't really a volume puncher. Plus I think Miguels defense (especially against the right hand upstairs) will only improve with the experience he gains at 140.

I'll be the first to tell you that Cotto is one of my favorite fighters and I see him being extremely successful in his career. He will carry 147, 154, and 160 quite nicely. I dunno this fight would occur way down the line at 154 and I just see Cotto being the much better fighter whenever that time comes. Just my humble opinion.

Cotto is much more skilled and has better defense. Cotto's shorter punches will be the difference.

Cotto would beat Cintron by decision. Boxing 101, Teddy Reid has been knocked down several times and I remember Tackie knocking him out in about 5 rounds.

The only person that has knocked down Reid was Kermit Cintron. You obviously didn't watch the fight. Reid has been stopped 3 times. The only person to knock him down was Cintron. he was never floored in either of the other two fights in which he was stopped. I also found it interesting that everyone completely overlooked the fact that Cotto was hurt by a single right hand from Sosa who is a Jr Lightweight! And Ndou began his career at 126. These are facts not opinion. Cintron destroys Cotto, and so would Teddy Reid.

Somebody have it in for Cotto? Its laughable that you say Teddy Reid would DESTROY Cotto. Reid is a joke and I find it funny that you are holding him in such high regard. In which round did this single right hand "hurt" Cotto? Cotto never looked hurt to me in that fight. The right hand may have surprised him but at no time in the fight did Cotto look wobbled or in any sort of trouble. Cintron is outclassed and outgunned in a fight with Cotto now or later. And even if N'Dou landed a good hard shot on Cotto means nothing...N'Dou is one of the better 140 fighters right now.
