He was a flawed fighter who got hit quite a bit. He showed quite a bit of improvement in his fight against Verno Phillips. I mean you can tell yourself what you want about the Margarito fight, but he won the first 8 rounds of that fight. That said, we won't really know how good he is until he's fought a few more good fighters. Winky is a start and depending on how good he looks against Winky we'll see where he's able to go from here.

Basically, many of us fans are looking for new stars. But we only see what tv networks let us see. So, if Paul Williams is being served up as a future star some people are going to jump on that bandwagon. He's going to be given the opportunity to prove if he deserves that attention or not.

No problem, I dont care that Williams is black. Seriously though when people like Kellerman say he is paralyzing divisions with fear..it annoys me. Also when people say top fighters are avoiding him it is most likely because he is has not done enough and his size/reach makes him an awkward fight for anyone. The Winky fight will help with his resume if he wins but even then Winky is old and has been irrelevant for a few years.

paul never looked that bad from the first bell and on in any fight...

you could of course say, thats because of what quintana presented...

and ill reply with... in the rematch, quintana came out the same he did in the first fight, and gave the same looks...

Paul, was definitely, definitely more aggressive from get go... and he was putting more steam on his punches, I felt pauls mindset was definitely different immediately

Paul Williams is good, but should not be considered "elite"

I definitely know why there not fighting him... hes one of the most dangerous fighters in the division.. just based on his size, 6'2 WW, southpaw, longer reach then wlad and puts out 100+ punches a round, has good stamina and a hell of a chin...

Who wants to fight that? and you're not going to make millions fighting him either...

Im not like kellerman, I dont think people are literally "afraid" of him... I just think hes too big of a risk for anyone to step up too, and that's bull****

Winky hasn't fought in almost two years, but at 160 he's still relevant because there aren't a whole lot of good fighters at 160. Outside of Pavlik, Abraham and Sturm Winky is probably the next best fighter at the weight.

I just felt like throwing a CO-SIGN!, to fit in with all the hip cats in here.

Who is calling him a legend? Reed pretty much spelled out how I feel about him. I like PWill. You aren't going to be hearing me compare him to Hearns, like some on here, though.
