Benn vs Mclellan great fight or bag of s*!$e ???

I have heard many people claim Benn dominated the fight and is wasn't even close but the truth is the bout was competitive throughout until Gerald quit due to brain trauma.

I agree the fight was competitive, but that does not mean it was not a great victory for Benn. IMO it was his greatest ever win. I dont know if you know this, but to say Benn was the underdog is a huge understatement! Even in London nobody thought he could win. Most peeps in the UK thought he was gonna get seriously hurt. He didnt he proved everyone wrong, so in my book goes down as a great win on his record, albeit a sad one.

I very rarely watch it tho for obvious reasons, when the commentater says he's quit his hearts broken it makes me sick now knowing whats actually goin down. I love Benn but Gerald was the superior fighter

Benn did get away with alot, but he was up and on his feet in the first round quicker then people give him credit for.
The ref was a twat, but that shouldnt take anything away from Benns victory.

It was an absolutely brutal fight.Benn said later that everytime gerald hit him his jaw felt like it was in a warner brothers cartoon.Although he had a very short career,IMO,I havent seen a harder puncher.Benn was passing blood for about a week after that fight.It is so,so sad what happened to Mcclellan subsequently.I dont think Benn got away scott free afterwards either.He was never the same after that fight,and not just inside the ring.I'm glad to see that he has looked after his money though and got his life together as he is probably my favourite british fighter

lol haha to be honest both fighters we as dirty in the fight but yeah like mr crust said benn was never the same after the fight but i do think it would have been nice of him to do something to help mclellan as his website says hes never even called gerald or his family since the fight and acording to the site geralds broke and it costs 70k a year just in medical bills and they rely on the charity they have set up. it would have been nice of benn to help at least once

tho i read once that mclellan used to bread pitbulls for fighting and used to get puppys form the animal rescue places and throw them to the pitbulls and let them tear the pups apart so some could say he deserved it but i dont belive everything i read so i guess its what you want to belive and i dont think anyman deserves what happened to gerald
