Also, styles make fights, and if fighter a) can beat fighter b) that doesn't mean he would beat fighter c), and the P4P rankings have to take into account the fact that someone might win a given fight just because that person's style suited him.
Pacquiao had about a 7lbs weight advantage, Pacquiao was a huge Super Featherweight weighing in at 144lbs on fight night.

Hatton is confused as to the meaning of p4p best. Just beating Pacquiao will not do it. One style/size/circumstamces can beat another but its just a style problem...for example Margarito beat Cotto but no one can claim Margarito should be considered better on a p4p basis...so if Hatton beats Pac it just means he beat the #1p4p but if plenty of lesser fighters can then beat Hatton that has to be weighted. Pacs resume its just superb, it pisses on everyone else's, even Mayweather's.

Margarito was ranked higher than Cotto after his win, Cotto dropped out of the top 10 and Margarito was at 7 i think.

They've been calling Mayweather the best p4p fighter, before he fought Hatton or Oscar De la hoya. But how many great fighters did he beat before them? He had winning streaks against weak opponnets some coming off defeats-like Judah. Hatton has just lost once so he very well can be declared the best pound for pound fighter(if he beats Mr. Pacman). Especially considering that his only lost camed for the so called p4p best fighter Floyd Mayweather.

P4P the best fighter can be Joe calzaghe or it could have been Miguel Cotto before his now controversial lost. I've seen fighter being call the best pound for pound more cause of their record than the caliber of their opponents.

I like Hatton he seems like he would be a cool guy to hang with but Floyd sr has fed him a magic mushroom and he is delusional if he thinks fighting Pacman will be anything like his experience over Malignaggi. He looked good against Malignaggi but PAc is on a different level. He is a ball of speed and power, seems to be getting better and better, takes a good shot, great movement and is a Southpaw. Hatton is gonna wake up from his fantasy land with Pacs **** in his ass and I think by round 6 he will look worse than DLH did probably end up getting straight fu cking KO'd brutally. I give him props for fighting the best and entertainng the hell out of me but this is gonna end bad for him.

what happens now to Margarito's ranking? Take out the whole plaster thing and I personally put Cotto quite a bit ahead of Margarito. If it was plaster or even hardened gauze which is bad in and of itself Margarito , and many of his victories that gave him elevated rankings go down the drain.

Your probably right but it shouldn't be that way. Marg particular style was a problem for Cotto but all things considered Marg doesn't belong in the same rank as Cotto p4p, especially now with the Mosley...if we look at it on a win basis where do we place Williams who beat Marg who beat Cotto etc...? A system is needed that all commissions will adopt.
